I’ve added some great money savers to my “Favorites page”. The one I’m blogging about today is my #1 absolute favorite place to go grocery shopping… ALDI.
You will need to bring 2 things with you when you go. The first is a quarter for the cart, but don’t worry, when you return the cart you get your quarter back. Second, you will want to bring something to carry your food home in. I started with old paper bags I saved from shopping at other stores. I now have 2 reusable bags I bought at Aldi…these things are HUGE and they carry a TON of weight.
My suggestion to the readers is to go to Aldi and buy a few things to try. On each return trip, pick out a few more items. Aldi has a Double guarantee which states: “If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money.”
These stores are popping up everywhere! They provide lower priced groceries “by offering a limited and reliable product assortment”. What I mean by this is that they have mostly their own brand of products, but they are pretty much the same as the name brands in other stores.
If you go to check it out for nothing less than the price of milk and eggs, it’s worth it!
My favorite things to buy at Aldi are:
- Milk
- Eggs
- Mama Cosa’s Pizza
- Mama Cosa’s Garlic toast
- fresh fruits and vegetables
- canned fruits and vegetables
- side pasta and side rice
- pasts and pasta sauces
- Yogurt
- cheese slices, sticks, blocks
- baking needs
Aldi also has weekly “Special Buys”, which are name brand food products/house products/toys etc, at special negotiated prices.
I suggest you check out this page. It’s an overview of how Aldi can keep the costs low and you can look for a store in your area.
