I have been suffering from chronic canker soars for about 4 years. I have tried everything from changing my toothpaste to one with out Sodium Laurel Sulfate to reading up on what vitamin and mineral deficiencies may lead to canker soars and taking a multivitamin with extremely high doses of them. Nothing seems to help really. Why do I care about the canker soars? Because I don’t just get one. I get multiple soars, in multiple locations all at the same time and they get very large. They can take 2 – 3 weeks to heal and it can be very difficult to eat during that time.
So, recently, I turned to the internet again. And this time researched natural treatments for canker soars. What I found was information on DGL Licorice root. This is the herb licorice root with the glycyrrhizin removed. The glycyrrhizin is removed, because it has been associated with higher blood pressure and liquid retention. (you can get it in it’s original form too, but I went with DGL licorice root.) Licorice root has had some studies done, in which, the results suggest that it may help with canker soars.
I ordered my product and it arrived just the other day. I bought the chewable tablets, which don’t taste very good, but I’ll deal with it if I have to. I have been using it for 2 days and I am amazed by the results! The lesion I had on my tongue was the size of one that had at least a week left to close and heal. After two days, the size has shrunk significantly and it’s almost closed and gone already! As an added benefit, the adult acne breakout I’ve been dealing with for the past 2 months is almost gone! I’ve seen more progress on my skin repair in 2 days than I’ve seen in the past month!
If you suffer from chronic canker soars or adult acne, and nothing else seems to help, this definitely is worth some research and discussion with your health care professional!
